Rev. Jackie Gaston

Jackie Gaston serves as the lead pastor at Grace Fellowship Presbyterian Church. Born and raised in Union Springs, AL, he embraced faith early, influenced by his devout parents and a pivotal revival at First Baptist Church in Union Springs. Jackie’s early years were marked by a passion for sports; he excelled in football, basketball, and baseball during his high school years, earning a baseball scholarship to Huntingdon College. At Huntingdon, his interests shifted towards Sports Medicine, leading him to a career in Physical Therapy. He earned a B.A. in Biology in 1990, followed by an M.S. in Physical Therapy from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Call to Ministry and Family Life

After a decade in physical therapy, a calling to ministry emerged in 2002. He pursued theological studies at Birmingham Theological Seminary, obtaining an MDiv in 2007. Jackie was appointed as pastor at Grace Fellowship Presbyterian Church in December 2006. He married his college sweetheart, Mary Shea, in 1992, and they have four children, including three daughters, Morgan (married to Cale Kreger), Virginia (married to LT Hagood), Abigail, and a child who passed away early in pregnancy.

Ministry, Teaching, and Personal Interests

Jackie’s international ministry includes missions in Romania, Lebanon, Ireland, and Belize. He also teaches at Birmingham Theological Seminary, covering Systematic Theology, Church History, and preaching. In 2019, he completed a ThM from Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary, focusing on Calvin’s perspective on the Lord’s Supper. His personal interests include reading, fitness, boating, enjoying sports, and watching movies with his family.
